Estimate annual energy by looking at charger consumption and how often the mower cycles through its battery during the mowing season. Larger, steeper, and more complex lawns generally require more operating and charging time.
Where buyers get tripped up
Published battery capacity is not the same as wall energy consumption. Charging losses, standby consumption, mowing frequency, weather delays, and battery aging all affect actual electricity use.
How to make the decision
Use your electricity price per kilowatt-hour and the mower manufacturer’s charging specifications when available. Treat the result as an operating-cost estimate rather than a reason to choose an undersized mower.
