LiDAR reduces dependence on satellite visibility
LiDAR-first systems can be attractive for yards with tree canopy or buildings that complicate satellite reception. They still need reliable local sensing and software, so navigation architecture should be treated as a system rather than a single sensor.
RTK remains highly precise when installed well
RTK-based mowers can deliver centimeter-level positioning and efficient systematic mowing. Their weakness is that reference-station placement and sky visibility can matter.
Hybrid systems are becoming the premium standard
The strongest systems increasingly combine positioning methods so vision or LiDAR can help when GNSS conditions deteriorate. That redundancy is more important than marketing around any one sensor.

We give more weight to property fit than to feature count.
