Some vision systems may recognize certain objects, but pet waste varies in size, color, lighting, and grass concealment. A miss can spread contamination across wheels and the underside of the mower.

Relying on AI object recognition to replace yard cleanup creates an avoidable maintenance problem. The same applies to small toys, chews, ropes, and bowls left in the mowing area.
How to set the mower up for it
Use a quick yard pickup before scheduled mowing and run the mower when pets are indoors. A predictable routine is more reliable than assuming the mower will detect every small hazard.
