Weather resistance does not mean rain is always a good time to mow. The mower may tolerate water while the lawn itself is too wet for clean cutting or reliable traction.

Light rain and damp grass are different from saturated soil or storms. Some mowers can operate in wet weather, while others are designed to pause automatically or return to the dock.

The biggest risk may be turf damage from wheel spin and turning on soft soil, not water entering the mower. Wet clippings can also build up faster under the deck.
