The ideal property has a mower-width side passage or gate that can remain available during scheduled operation. The robot can then treat the lawns as separate zones connected by a transit route.

The constraint that matters most

Locked gates, stairs, public sidewalks, and deep gravel can make the two lawns functionally disconnected. Carrying the mower is possible but reduces the value of automation.

How to set the mower up for it

Map the route before choosing the mower, place the dock where both zones are reachable, and favor strong zone-level scheduling if the front and back lawns grow at different rates.
