Slope rating is only the first filter
At this grade, a mower whose specification merely reaches 50% leaves little room for wet grass, imperfect soil, turns, or manufacturing tolerance. More published headroom is valuable.
Traction and transitions decide real-world performance
All-wheel or four-wheel drive is increasingly relevant, but traction cannot compensate for dangerous drop-offs, loose soil, or abrupt ledges at the top and bottom of the slope.
Measure the difficult section, not the average lawn
Measure the exact steep section and its runout area. Favor machines such as the higher-slope AWD/4WD class only when the entire route can be mapped with a safe margin.
