Polycarbonate thickness should be evaluated together with wall construction, panel span, climate, and the frame system.
Start with the constraint
Thicker multiwall panels can improve insulation and rigidity, but they may transmit less light and cost more. Thin panels can work well when the frame provides close support and the climate is mild.
What changes the decision
A thickness number without flute structure, UV coating, support spacing, and manufacturer load data is incomplete.
What to verify before buying
Use the kit manufacturer’s approved panel specification for wind and snow conditions. If heating through winter, include insulation performance in the operating-cost decision.
How we research greenhouse kits
We compare frame geometry and materials, covering, included components, ventilation, climate fit, working dimensions, anchoring, shipping method, assembly burden, upgrade paths, and completed build cost.
Prices, specifications, firmware, and configuration-driven features can change. Check the current manufacturer page and local requirements before buying or installing equipment.
